Autumn School 2025

👥 Number of places: 30 doctoral students


Who can apply?

The Autumn School is aimed at PhD students enrolled in: economics, management, sociology, geography, agronomy, environmental sciences, and related disciplines.

It aims to bring together emerging researchers from a broad North-South network wishing to deepen their knowledge and methodologies in the field of resilience and sustainable development of rural territories.


Selection criteria

Applications will be evaluated according to :

  • The relevance of the thesis research project to the School's themes.
  • Interest in multidisciplinarity and an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Motivation and availability for active participation before and after the School: selected doctoral students will be expected to invest in preparatory work (recommended reading, case study reflection) and post-School follow-up (reflective feedback, possible participation in scientific products).
  • Fluency in French and English: candidates must be at ease in both languages to follow courses and take part in exchanges.

Registration fees & coverage

Participants must cover their own travel expenses. The consortium will cover on-site expenses (accommodation and meals from October 27 to 31, 2025).

Participants from African countries may be granted (at least partial) coverage of their travel expenses, subject to examination of their applications, taking into account their country of origin and available budgetary resources.

⚠️ The following documents are required to complete your application: an academic CV (maximum 2 pages), a letter of support from your PhD supervisor, and a motivation letter explaining your interest in the thematic school.
